The cast iron casserole dish is incredibly robust. The casserole dish is a large shallow dish 30cm diameters in size.
The weight of the dish is very heavy because it is made from cast iron. It can withstand very heigh temperatures in the oven (230c) and the design of the lid makes it impossible for any vapour liquid to escape and reduce the taste of the food being cooked.This feature makes for more intense flavours. The dish is very versatile and can be used to make a wide range of dishes. The bottom of the dish allows for maximum surface contact. The designers made the lid to make it almost impossible for any moisture to leave the dish when in use. The white enamel interior lid is easy to clean.
The description says 'It is as striking on the dinner table as it is functional in the oven' I agree! In comparison to lots of other stainless-steel pan, this one will last for years. Stainless steel saucepans have a much shorter self-life. The knob on the lid is nicely designed and easy to use when picking up such a heavy cooking item. The colour is unusual and one of the reasons I purchased the item.
